 FAQs

  • Botox and Dysport are two types of wrinkle relaxer products made from botulinum toxin type A. Both Botox and Dysport are used to temporarily relax facial muscles, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. They are primarily used for cosmetic purposes, though they also have medical applications (like treating migraines, excessive sweating, relieving TMJ pain).

  • Both Botox and Dysport work by blocking the release of a chemical messenger that signals muscle contractions. This results in the relaxation of the muscle, causing a softening or reduction of wrinkles and fine lines in the treated area.

  • Botox and Dysport are both brands of wrinkle relaxers. They are two different brands but were created to do the same thing, similar to products like Coke and Pepsi. Botox is the more well-known product and tends to stay localized to the treated area and therefore offers a slightly stiffer result. When injected, results start to set in around 7 days later. However, full results take two weeks. Dysport is more diluted than Botox, which may cause it to spread more easily across the treatment area. Some people find that Dysport results start to set in on day 4 or 5. Full results set in at 10 days and many patients get up to 4 months of longevity out of the product.

  • The wrinkle relaxing effects of both Botox and Dysport typically last around 3-4 months, although this can vary depending on individual factors such as patient musculature and metabolism.

  • Yes! When administered by a licensed and experienced provider, Botox is FDA-approved, safe, and effective for reducing fine lines and wrinkles. Botox has been extensively studied and used for decades in both cosmetic and medical treatments.

  • It's generally recommended to avoid using Botox or Dysport during pregnancy or breastfeeding due to limited research on their safety in these situations.

  • The cost of Botox and Dysport varies depending on individual musculature, and areas being treated. On average, a single treatment session ranges from $300-$600.

  • Most clients describe the sensation as a quick pinch or slight pressure, but overall, discomfort is minimal and well-tolerated. To ensure the most comfortable experience possible, we use ultra-fine needles designed for precision and utilize gentle techniques to reduce sensitivity and bruising.

  • Yes, both Botox and Dysport can be combined with other cosmetic treatments such as fillers or Hydrafacials for enhanced results.
